Pre-Construction Workup
Once all the admin work is done, its time to start getting your project moving. We will coordinate your contractor to get things ready to start working. Depending on the project, this could mean permits, ordering material or even weather forecasting. We will do as much up front work as we can before we actually start involving the site management team and starting the actual work.
Pre-Construction Meeting
When we have your contractor fully prepared, we will set up a pre-construction meeting with your site management team. Acumen will lead this meeting and cover all of the information necessary to execute a successful project for all involved. Some of the items we cover in the meeting include but are not limited to: contact information, scope summary, timelines, working hours, communications, contractor uniforms and notifications.
Work Scheduling
After the pre-construction meeting we work directly with your contractor to put the plan into action. We establish milestone dates and ensure the contractor stays on schedule throughout the project. We know issues can and likely will arise. When they do, we will work with our contractor to resolve them with the least amount of impact on the project schedule. We will communicate any schedule changes with your site team.
Communications
On all projects, short of a true emergency, all communications will go through Acumen. This includes communication from the site team, the contractor and the owner. We are genuinely the liaison between everyone involved. In most instances, we can field and resolve the communications internally. However, we will engage whomever is required as needed.
Change Order Tracking
Unfortunately, change orders are part of project management. We work diligently to identify them before a project starts, but sometimes, they are simply undetected. When change orders arise, you can be sure that we vet the proposed change and the pricing and present it to you with clear explanation. If you approve a change order, we will facilitate and document all work involve in executing it.
Quality Control
Throughout the project, quality control is important. Acumen will utilize site visits and technology to be sure your projects are being completed according to the scope of work and with the expected level of quality you demand. We will work with your contractor to perform final walks and coordinate the corrections of any deficiencies found throughout the project.
